Unit Recruitment

Recruitment Policies

The 10th Dragoon Regiment, 2nd Squadron seeks motivated individuals who wish to accurately portray the soldiers of this elite regiment. Our goal is to combine comradeship, research and public interaction in a way that every event is fun and fulfilling for our members. Polish heritage is not a requirement to join. As per the guidelines from our umbrella organization the WWII Polish Living History Group all perspective members should be at least 18 to conform to state and federal firearms laws.

At a typical event, our time is spent in a blend of both talking with the public and practicing period Polish military maneuvers. We take great pride in our ability to perform close order drill using Polish commands. We feel it is important to be able to drill in an organized fashion as we have participated in several Polish monument dedications and public functions over the years. It is also important to study period field tactics for the various reenactments we participate in as well. We also practice bayonet drill and hand to hand combat simulations. The benefits of this are two fold. Not only do we get experience in some of the training real WWII Dragoon troopers did but the public is always interested in watching these demonstrations.

Our uniforms are basic British or Canadian WWII battle dress and web gear. We do not expect potential recruits to come outfitted at their first event. In fact, we advise against it. If you are of average size, we will most likely have loaner clothing and equipment to get you started before you make the determination of this is the right hobby and unit for you. If you require any further membership information, please contact us at: admin@polishlhg.org
